What does it mean for me to make African music? Is it delivering on diatribal rhythmic sensations in African dialects? Is it the incorporation of cow hide, acacia bark and cowrie shells into the enveloping instrumentation on the track? Is Africa merely the sum of her languages, flora and fauna?

In my sight, Africa is the experience of my struggle....the space of my labor pangs and so the place of my birthing. Africa is the voice of my calling through darkness and mist into a place of great clarity. Africa....the great inner grappling where deep wrangles with deep....the journey of my salvation, the sound of redemption of mind, body and soul in totality.....the fulcrum where the Great Counsellor centrifugally engages beings of a created order. 

And that is the Africa in my music.

You would be wrong!  Difference is tho, in Canada we have a few little perks like central heating and insulation.  I have yet to experience those *little* joys out here in South Africa... mainly cuz folks are so used to it, they don't see a need for central heating, etc.  But i'm determined that should the occassion present itself in my times, I will construct a domicile with ALL of those perks.  Let it be a first, it certainly won't be a last....

My bad about posting the raw footage of the last performance....da truth is simply that i need access to an internet connection that won't take a week to upload it.  Ya, gotta work on dat one!
