War

2 worlds, 1 jagged interplay of interface...the voice of the sweet over the voice of the dramatically powered - subterfuge and the ill dynamics of domination shifting tectonic proportions all in the quest of winning over 1 soul, spirit, being.

She calls but then she denies, she whispers then cries and I am left dripping with her abuse. It does not penetrate so she tries osmosis to draw out my vulnerability into full vulture view. But osmosis don't work on solids... so i stay so, rock grounded keeping the confusion at halting distance from grey matter. The confusion exists in a state of dismembered relationships - heads and tails in wrong places. Order is not found in Cartesian hypnosis...instead it is found in the mess of redemption and resurrection. It's ugly now, it's amorphous but it's real and it's living.

2 worlds, 1 being. Dig in baby, road is forked and the time for decisiveness is round that next bend. Let's get there.

Heroes

There used to be flame -> white blue orange licks kicking high....like holiness, I was different then. My heroes were existent, non-ethereal, GPS trackable - Women of Warrior Ways who championed the underdog rise, foes vanquished always....Mighty Men "Melachim" mirroring King David's 3 pillars, iron walls whose shade formed bronze battalions around all who formed collective around them always....proud Kings and Queens upon whose countenance played the deepest rhythmic riffs of ancestral lineage; they could do no wrong. My heroes came always to bless -> to destroy and then rebuild. I shouldered them, palanquin sky touching dreamy landscapes like a Chinese junk navigating foreign-man fogs and currents; I was chief sentinel bearing the brutal and perennial pain of hardship, poverty and toil. If only to carry you, sing your clan's praise, to be down....then my loss was gainful.

My esoteria speaks something new, different as I was then. Fires wane as graying coals cast shadows that now conceal their likeness....silhouettes gone ghost...the world is wept, the days of Mothra, Mother Teresa and Moses are only remembered. Humaness comes to betray the infallible who don flesh, breathe air and will eventually lie asleep....only one flame persists > it is humble, but it is bold - it dares to speak light where lies devastate, it dares to speak hope where entanglement and corruption preside, it ignites fuel incrementally never yielding carbon and it will eventually own your whole garden, it burns but heals....irresistible, irrevocable, unyielding....this flame is possibility, a trust-again fire lick, a lingering reality....God is.

Today I shaved my mustache...just that had me spiraling down corridors that's over for, over more - I'm over forecasting whether or not this could be...mean am I who I am? Or who I used to be? Regardless, cyah stress - this ill cypher got my soul finessed, endless typhoons my Empress slide smooth out of the picture. It was hanging at an angle of incidence, innocence reflected - she called it crooked. Nuff wit the name blame calling and stalling like purgatory. In this season may my spirit find increase, least as Jesus speak over seas may it settle these streets and beats that's overdone. The One Son call me to walk on H2O midst these raging old souls, mean I navigate then have to wait, grabbing fate, was passion-ate! Consumed pursuing, wanted you in, got left right out. No doubt, I'll stay living at beginnings fortified forgiving and I'll stay stating statements that stay regal like kingly status, add this like sum to the creed of a warrior wit words. Catch a tongue lash on a rhyme from a lung black that's back, back behind the posterior positioning of what used to be, excuse the confusion see the bruise of contusion had me viewing Noah's 2's...you may call me dizzy but I say the vision busy - crafting while tapping into divine interpretation, called to a higher plane of existing earthly: spirit firstly, followed by soul then meatbox. Keep locks and frohawks, your heart I know not...

My flo got reputation insinuation connection
Cuz you're an overcomer if you live in resurrection

Wandering Years

Everybody got dem...those times of darkness where destiny appears lethargic, hope so translucent that yesterday's fears glare straight through it into your soul... faith seems like magic = unfounded at best, illusory and cruel....love is of the same soundbiting frequency as jocularity and mistrust. Wandering years....every step stumbles, fumbles light years deep, steeped in the ignorant, faint rumbles of the dreams you once nurtured. Dreams, visions, delusions of grandeur > classed in one monolithic dead-ended category. Once bit twice shy...these times seem to teach the heart to be hard and cold as elbows, depressingly realist, to shun hope as it aspires to crushing despair. Why go there when all it causes is the pain of street dreams deferred?

Instead my soul plays in a place where sunshine dwells below my highest ambition and the moon's gravitation pull is nothing to the centripetal force of my imagination. I recklessly defy the notions of motions denied and dispersed. My thoughts line corridors where the open door cannot be shut and the closed one cannot be forced. Inclined future, downward mobility aspirations placing me at the feet of climax. Inspired weight dragging me into the complexities of the entangled mess of success > unpredictable, insanely choreographed, overwhelmingly beautiful. A place where symmetry bears no likeness and aesthetics are defined by the existence of a subject which defies disparaging bracketization.....

These wandering years will learn to conform to the amorphous power of faith, hope and love.

::Everybody-loves-my-Sonshine ::

5 months into Daddyhood....and loving my Sonshine! (Doesn't everybody loves it?) Life is an amazing phenomenon...you and I exist, by virtue of what? Of course, we're divided on this issue - divine will, human decision, force of nature, some combo - whatever philosophy and, ultimately, faith you espouse, somehow we know that we are.

I've seen how new life does something to people...it ultramagnetically draws people I didn't know existed from corners of the earth I didn't know existed, people who somehow ain't really interested in my existence either. They come and they gawk, marvel, embrace the newness of my son. He is quiet (in initial months), uninterested and got that look that exudes that uncomfortably piercing question: why did you really bring me here Dad? >> yet his radiance is so powerful. He speaks no words, neither possesses a reputation of greatness that speaks for him but still....he pulls, some kinda centripetal force. A force that politicians, entertainers, pastors and astronauts seek to master, hoping some day to regain it. This is a curious thing.

I'm enjoying it. I'm grateful for his presence which seems like a great gift. He is ours, yet he isn't. He belongs to the furnace that forged him...the Great Furnace where forms, figures and spirits are hashed out. Where you and I are known and so we are. He belongs to his Creator and yet somehow to his co-creators. I espouse the Afrikan philosophy that says "I am because we are" or "I am because I belong". This great network called humanity that reaches far beyond the bounds of time, place and sky. We are connected, should you accept it or not. I hope that I can be a good connector....whatever piece I am, hoping I can live in fullness so that those for whom I'm vital can also live their fullness. Especially for him....

Tapfuma - Diamond Soul (Josh Gray)

Womanhood >> the Queens, daughters, sisters, mothers, lovers, fighters and nurturers >>> this is the celebration of those among us who are Diamond Soul-ed...

"...and then I knew as the leaves fell around me that life is transient...and those moments we call good are only so because God has made all things good."

Introducing the brand newest prince to enter Musewe lineage......the young Taurai Idan Musewe :))))))

This to me is a vision of reality, reminiscent of how we come >> forgotten origins. We are like flowers that are here now and gone tomorrow, the beginning and end, an opportune moment in the hands of the Divine One. My gift to him is existence. His to me is meaning.

Mr. Loverman

Organize!

A word imparted from Chevelle and Collin, dynamic duo.  Organize Family, make connections to forge relationship to create collectivity.  There is power in unity, it commands blessing.

Chevelle Franklyn of Mr. Loverman and Dancehall Queen fame, yes...THAT Chevelle.  We got tickets to a concert that she was headlining and there witnessed the power of the prophetic delivered straight to the chest over rhythm style art.  Wow... she was speakin straight to my spirit fam, i was moved.

Many other Ghanaian artists did their thing too and let me say dat these cats have mastered reggae - they own it like!

Chevelle got an amazing story of redemption.  Now her art serves Jesus in a most incredible way...organize!
Her and her husband, Collin, are some kool, down to earth people.  A friend organized for a few artists to link them up by their hotel and just reason some.  No charge, no airs, no graces just real people concerned about the Kingdom of God bussin it out.

One of the things that God affirmed through this is that now is Africa's season and time.  It's for African's to recognize that and flow in it so as to allow this season to be everything it's meant to be.  It won't be in us being like other kingdoms present or past, it has to be something new.  It's already here, in Africa....it's already happenin.

Organize...we gotta look at ourselves and what we got in our hands.  We gotta be like the mighty Moses who wielded simply a staff to defeat powers and principalities.  These are the weapons of our warfare.  And it's all about nation buidling...discipling them into God's image and likeness.

Organize famz!  Watch and see, seek and learn.....Change is here.

The Power of Rejection

The place I'm at - resembling, masquerade parading as strange - face to face with my Image and Likeness, natural as air...
Is this the fellowship of suffering?
Is this the landscape to which You woo soujourners?
Is this the long hallowed fullfillment of expectation where men become lions and women, Queens?

I have been here before...carries the scent of rememberance, an entrenchment in memory.  A paved place strange and inviting, dark and comforting...the depth of humanity, grasping, loosing itself into the fullness of my experience.

I am!
Broken, yet knowing the Embalmer who sutures loss and binds anguish...
I am!
Let my broken soul fly and my alloy fragmented intellect pierce your horizon, let this thornfully tormented body be raised...
I am and will be though my humanity threatens to tear its limbs from its spirit, the same begs for a God....holy and true, One who will extend the ancient decree of mercy's triumph over judgement, forgiveness in penetance. This...because, my own depraved constitution cannot acost the Great Approachable One...

In this longing fall You find me, in this unquenchable stagger I am known by Him who knows me.  Raised not in the disobedient winds of the prince of the air, threatening to dislodge a man off his solid rock foundation, never minding miry clay with your footprints in it...a dreary territory long hazed over by the power of salvation...I have long been lost....

"Know it's been a long time....."

Who knows what song that line comes from??????  Haha....Tapfuma the Soul Shyfta - check out the track Diamond Soul.  A track dedicated to mothers of revolution, daughters, sisters and not least of all wives ;)

As we are in Ghana now, it's been awesome taking in the new sights and sounds.  Getting to know ppls and how they move.  Most exciting is knowing that this is destiny....feeling a sense of purpose and God's calling has been invaluable... many have been my plans and desires but God's purpose prevails.  And God is great.

Aight ppl's dem, trust y'all are well.  keep on keepin on!

*********African Muzik

What does it mean for me to make African music? Is it delivering on diatribal rhythmic sensations in African dialects? Is it the incorporation of cow hide, acacia bark and cowrie shells into the enveloping instrumentation on the track? Is Africa merely the sum of her languages, flora and fauna?

In my sight, Africa is the experience of my struggle....the space of my labor pangs and so the place of my birthing. Africa is the voice of my calling through darkness and mist into a place of great clarity. Africa....the great inner grappling where deep wrangles with deep....the journey of my salvation, the sound of redemption of mind, body and soul in totality.....the fulcrum where the Great Counsellor centrifugally engages beings of a created order.

And that is the Africa in my music.

Winter Season is ......Freezin

Winter time>>>>>>you would most probably posit that growing up a Canadian....not only can i handle the cold, but that i luv it!
You would be wrong!  Difference is tho, in Canada we have a few little perks like central heating and insulation.  I have yet to experience those *little* joys out here in South Africa... mainly cuz folks are so used to it, they don't see a need for central heating, etc.  But i'm determined that should the occassion present itself in my times, I will construct a domicile with ALL of those perks.  Let it be a first, it certainly won't be a last....

My bad about posting the raw footage of the last performance....da truth is simply that i need access to an internet connection that won't take a week to upload it.  Ya, gotta work on dat one!

Differently, peep the jewellery pictured below - u want sum for your wife, girl, cousin or granny?  Get @ me.  Gauranteed to make even the dryest come out flyest.... "Feathers by Elle" - Ellevate Your Nature

Many styles available, orders are also accepted.....

There and Back Again

There and back again,
Mine’s the Divine wind
Of change all around us
We have three wise men’ed across concrete courtyards, miles of sand, and frozen lands
Tundra bundled yet under all a sublime feeling of expectation….
There and back again….

Back to a scene where governance grants God-based privileges to card carrying collaborators
If all authority is such ordained do the profane who occupy nullify such claims?

Privately observe the thrusted nationalization agenda
No mind bender when mine tenders aborted
For lesser children who are born of the right family
Political piety or merit based empowerment
Take your pick if such is still in stock

True, we desire freedom and more freedom
but what is freedom that infringes on another’s desire?
Especially political will spilling into the obscenity of the politically obese>
What is freedom?
Freedom of the market – your demise or uprise commonly correlating capitally with your enterprise….is God on your side card carrier?

MoRoCo Chocolate Factory....

bornday luv....
Is da place to be at.  Pure, rich, dark, vanilla, milk - it's all there.  We hit it up tonight with the famz to celebrate mine and Tatenda's bday....was beautiful.

Da twinz celebratizin at home
They have meals and such, but we stuck to the desserts amidst debates on the finer points of whether or not it is too effeminate a place for a group of dudes to hang out at...... if sharing chocolate fondue wit ur ppl's between espresso size cups of "sipping chocolate" ain't man enuf for ya, u shud def look elsewhere....hahaha!  But u don't really have to do all that so i still maintain it is doable.  Beautiful joint, gotta return someday/night.

Da family strong!

Ya, it's blessed being here with famz.  I find myself treasuring every moment of it as I don't know when we'll have this chance again.....i scheme it'll be sooner than any of us think ;)  God has a great way of bringing us all together at the perfect timing and for the perfect amount of time.......before ancient pet peeves sink in again, lol!

The best part is Leri is now saying "you know what? I could live here"...not that we'd leave our beloved town (soon to be metropolis) of Pietermaritzburg in a hurry...right?  But i feel that both TO and PMB are meant to be bases for us so i'm glad she's luvin my hometown!

Big ups to VCF friends and family!  Has been beatiful connecting with as many of y'all as we have been able to.  Really brings back great memories and reminds me of why our friendships are so valuable.  Tnx to those of you who have had us over and especially made Leri feel so at home; she really enjoys hangin with y'all.  Luv u guys!

Ya famz, stay warm and drive safe in these perilous winter times.  And for those of y'all in warmer, summer climates......remember us.
Lol, we luvin winter tho so stay up and stay fruitful!

One night at the Apollo.....

Being here was epic....
a piece of heritage where our feet touched, lay
solid foundation
stone on stone
note for note....

A place of twisted power plays,
cheeky pale bodies wooing men's fantasies
burlesque style.....

To minstril handclapping choruses

To a place of inception

Much respect to resident historian Mr. Billy Mitchell, who although doesn't conduct tours except for on a Saturday, made our journey totally worthwhile by showing us hospitality....God bless u!  The feeling of being in such a historic place where legends have been made and frequented, still sends chills down my spine!  Lol, was truly epic.

NYC was great, but will have to do it again...not really enuf time to take it all in.  And it was cold....really cold

And who cud even speak of Trini??? After not having been there for over 10 years, it was nothing short of stunningly beautiful - much respek to da famz who made all of us feel so comfortable and made the experience so enjoyable!!

Salibai Beach by Toco

It was particularly amazin for Leri and famz to see where we come from.....and doubles? bake and shark? punch a creme?
too much to digest in just 1 week!  We will most certainly be back....esp for sum Manicou courtesy of Uncle Glen...

THAT.....is Manicou
Well that's enuf on our journeys for now.  God willin there will be many more to come, esp with some of y'all reaching SA side!  I have to say it's so blessed being here at (TO) home with the whole family again; we're only missing Leri's famz who went back home yesterday.  They should be arrivin tom God willin.
aight famz, keep on trusting and believin on Him who is the King of kings and Lion of lions.
Nuff luv

Pemiccan to Piarco

Cold to Curepe
Snow to sand....
a beautiful progression ent?

Lol, a minute it's been since i've seen these shores...bout 12 years to be exact.
We getting ready for a trip Toko side tomorrow then Tobago the following day....wish i had pics on me but using uncle's computer and someone else got the camera...visualization will have to do it.

Well i seen seeds of the last of winter gasp
perhaps the first, birthed in a cold terrain
bubbling over, no word.....speech or diction could capture
that which we see these days - blaze, wind, burn, earth churn......
no explanation would suffice other than that which comes directly from God's mouth

doubt, fear and frustration cloud thoughts, research, premonitions; sun, shine, grace and truth find no resting place except in the hearts of the faithful - they only visit and whisper rumours down corridors drowned in the mirth of self-deception...hoping, believing, percieving that one sweet day rubble will reduce and render them home.....

Mothers of Revolution

Women of the land, sprung rich like kemet
uprooted before the harvest by imperialistic tenets
shame what them people did to my continent innit?
Foreign on the tongue, strange fruit like guinep
taste buds of the young, but we were kings beginning
postbellum but sin in heart of people had been in
my continent before, strugglin for a shilling?
Capitalistic tendencies got us cold so we chillin
like it was our privilege to scrounge to make a living
off migrant labor systemic, indirect rule
social norms amended as an oppressive tool
women on reserves, survival becomes a duel
nobody got your back, your peoples digging for jewels
black lunged subterranean, women left to valiant
measures to survive, ostracized like aliens
told optimize daily in the homestead in stead
make some pence off your produce, but keep your own fed
everything else is criminal, shared their own bed
just to make the minimal,
beer brewing institution teefed by state subliminal
queens you have been resides in your being,
taken to native courts to abide man's decreeing
tainted by indignity urban migration leading
to squatters in settlement, landowners and tenements
bougie class development gained sounds of dissent
attempted obliteration through legislation that's bent
on continued accumulation at the people's expense
not entrusted with education so picketed at the fence
colonial administration committing Sharpeville Massacres
after her...... bullets rang, her people sang
Igbo women vowed to pull down with bare hands
every stain of oppression, bared souls connecting
formed as adorned a hedge of protection
sworn to their born, themselves and family
to nurture life blood and choke out profanity.
Mothers of Revolution you offered us solutions
pain in cracked palms, the tears, death, the nuisance
you grew thin so your seeds grew straight
the legacy you are can never be erased
you have struck a rock that will not be effaced.
